GUARDGATE: Wireless Monitoring Interface
& Back-Up via SMS, GPRS and GSM
Usually, the Alarm Panel is
connected to a normal phone jack (technically called an RJ11 or RJ33),
which requires a working wireline from the local phone company, which
assumes two things-1, The phone line is available, (not so for Remote
Buildings, Barns, RV's, Boats and Yachts, Vacation Homes, Trailers on
Contruction Sites, Camp Sites...) and secondly, that the
line has not been cut.
These two problems are both solved by one
ingenious little solution, courtesy of the engineers at 2N, innovator
of the Czech Republike.
Voila', GSM Wireless Cellular for primary
access or secondary backup. Just get your SIM from the system operator
and relax.
GuardGate uses the GPRS hi-speed
data transmission for connection with the Central Station
Monitoring
Panel. In the USA, both Cingular/ATT and T-Mobile offer GPRS
service. Elsewhere, Vodafone, Vodacom, MTN, Orascom and others do as
well. To check the features of your local GSM Cell operator (click here)
Thanks to this new GPRS technology, it is
possible to establish immediate
connection both from the building to be guarded and the Security Agency
Dispatching Office. This allows the security squad to start sooner and
protect your property more effectively.
You can keep informed via "Short Message"
(text message) or SMS, of selected events, such as the house
locking (guarding) status. GuardGate keeps continuous connection with
the Security Agency Panel and sends information on the house status in
pre-defined intervals.
Unlike a common telephone
line, GuardGate is secured against communication failure too. The
device itself is protected against tampering (with an internal alarm)
and meets applicable standards for increased risk security
requirements.
For individual end-users, and where GPRS
is unavaible, or redundant, the "Guardgate"
will make a regular
Cellular call via the GSM Network. outbound to ALERT your
Alarm
Company.
Optional Super-powerful
back-up supply
provides an up to 16-hour long continuous connection in the event of
power outage (Under $100)
Can also be combined with the new Methanol "Fuel Cell Back-Up"
