No. 1    How do I buy from "The High Tech Store", "High Technology International", "J.R. Systems Wholesalers Div." or "Independent Telephone Div. "
First, do you know the part number and price? How current is the quote? Have you confirmed that it is in stock? Remember, we ship from the importer, manufacturer or distributor warehouse direct to you and hold no inventory ourselves. Has shipping been established (weight & size, country, postal code, carrier, method)? If all is ok, please decide how you're paying.



No. 2 Have you established your method of payment? 

Credit Cards- VISA, MC, AE, Discover and more...

Submit via  "Buy Now" links next to the product displayed. It is processed by PayPal, but you no longer need to be a member.

Include "Bill To" and "Ship To" info. where "Bill To" exactly matches what the credit card company has for your name, address, postal code and telephone number, when you applied for the card. 
 NOTE: The "Bill To" and "Ship To" address must be the same country. We also require a direct telephone number for both addresses, if different. 



Personal or Business Checks by fascimile machine. That's right! We use software called "CheckFax" and print a new laser copy of the check you fax us, (Sorry USA only). This speeds the order through and you can deduct 3% from the total order (without shipping). Allow 3-days to clear. Just write the check as if you were here in DC handing it to us, but fax it instead. Don't forget to tape it to an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet with "Bill To" and "Ship To" info handwritten or typed on top of sheet. Fax: 1-202-478-0690. (Currency in USD from U.S. based bank)



Bank Account Debit (ACH) via PayPal (from 55 countries) 

Bank-to-Bank Wire Transfer or SWIFT/TT: Contact us via fax or email for ABA#, Swift/TT & Account #.  We now accept U.S. Dollar, E.U. Euro, Pound Sterling, South African Rand, among many other currencies. Please allow for a slight delay due to bank paperwork, conversion to dollar, and re-transmission to the supplier/vendor/manufacturer. Additional fees average from 0 % to 3% for exchange, depending on the size of the transaction.


Money Transfer Services Worldwide: American Express, Thomas Cook/Travelex, Western Union.  And deduct 3% from Total Order (without shipping). In many countries you can pay with a credit card over the phone.

No. 3   How long does my order take to fill and the product to arrive?
We process your order within 24-hours. Most of our suppliers-hundreds worldwide-will also ship within 24-hours of receiving our order. The actual shipment  comes to you from the importer, distributor or manufacturer 1-3 days, depending on method of shipment chosen. Remember, we keep no inventory ourselves.

No. 4   Where do you ship from?
Directly from the manufacturers' or distributors' warehouse to you; we do not hold inventory. We offer UPS (ground, "blue" 2-day or overnight "red"), or Fedex (3-day ground, overnight or 2-day) (inside the USA), and USPS International Airmail , TNT and DHL, as well, for international & country to country, unless you specify otherwise. You can track your packages whereabouts live via net.

No. 5  What about international orders?
We have also used normal government Airmail Parcel Post which vary in reliability from country to country, and limit weight, size and insurance coverage.  They average two weeks worldwide, saving 40% on shipping, whereas private carriers take 7-10 days-max, unless rush shipping is applied, (1-3 days Express Mail International to 35 countries).

One major difference and short delay with international orders is because we must recieve them in our office, to re-pack for export with documentation for your customs authority.

No. 6  What if the merchandise arrives damaged?
You must report in writing via email or fax within one week of reciept of goods including: nature of problem, serial number, whether "dead on arrival" (doa) or breakdown, name, tel #, email/fax.

Please, do not throw away any packaging!  Suppliers will not accept returns without all original packaging, (except outer plastic wrap). We will reply with a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA) to put outside the box.

No. 7   What if I've bought from you before?
Makes life easier and faster, (although it seems fast enough), particularily if you've paid by checkfaxx. All we need is the product info. and your next check number (via tel, email or fax). That's it.

Depends. If hardware, could be us or the manufacturer. If sold as a workstation, we take all responsibilty either way. Most have a tech support hotline or website or bbs, all listed on our vendor pageEverything we sell carries at least a one-year warranty, regardless of the manufacturer (unless theirs is longer). Phone systems usually carry two-years, along with closed-circuit tv, access control and other packaged components.

No. 9   Can I get an extended warranty for three or four years extra?
Almost everything we sell can be extended via the G.E. Extended Warranty Service Plan, based on original purchase price. Total term length includes the warranty the product came with plus additional covergae purchased.

No. 10  What is your re-stocking fee if I want to return my item?
Returns can be tricky; first is to establish the reason-DOA or dislike. Usually shipments are sent directly back to our supplier with an RMA#, after which they credit our account, (less a 15-20% re-stock charge and shipping). Many surveillance items are not returnable at all, unless DOA. DOA's are replaced same day recieved, without charge, delivery free. Some items, like headsets, can't be returned due to health regulations. CPU & Memory chips aren't  returnable because of risk of static and improper packaging. Please check with us for specific supplier's policy for each item, before purchase.

No. 11  Truth is, I don't know you guys, I just found you on the Internet. Who is High Tech and how long have you been around, (not trying to insult you, of course)?
No insult implied, or taken. Actually glad you asked! Too many firms have already discovered the net as a way to exploit trusting folks like us and you. Vacation scams, spam email scams, and others can quickly erode trust and communication between people which the net was spawned to encourage.

In business, where trust is earned, we managed (as "The High Technology Store" Div.) an actual showroom for 12 years, 1983-95 before migrating to our virtual showroom. Our reputation worldwide is without equal for unusual niche technology products and services and we have been profiled from German TV to The Washington Post, to Mhz TV, to "First Business" Cable News.
